Luxury apartment

Delivered in February 2017 for Bricks & Goggles

Every once in a while we develop our own demo’s. In this case we decided to design and develop the interior of a luxury apartment. We used 3D Studio Max, Sketchup and placed the model in Unity Engine.

The experience runs at a stable 90 FPS on a laptop with a GTX 1070 GPU. The user can view the interior in VR by using an Oculus Rift and can navigate by using the new Touch Controllers which allow him/her to literally walk and/or move by using the joysticks.

Progress:

The VR market is growing at a rapid pace, that's why we think it's important to stay up to date with the latest developments that are available for VR. In this model we used some of the latest features that were released for the Unity Engine.

The placement of the lights in combination with the improved "Enlighten" system creates a real smooth and realistic experience of the model. We used small imperfections like the cloth laying on the chair so that the user thinks he’s walking in an apartment from which the user just left to fetch some groceries, this results in a very immersive experience.
